Podsothoth: A Lovecraft Book Club
Podsothoth is a horror and comedy podcast dedicated to the works (and foibles) of H.P. Lovecraft, hosted by recovering goth and internet D-lister celebrity, Tod Beardsley. Every Lovecraft story will be covered over two episodes each. First, Tod will read the story with minimal production, and ideal for people who just want to hear Lovecraft's words. This is the horror part. Following each story is a discussion of, about, and around that story, and have plenty of jokes and giggles. This is the comedy part. 1: Pickman's Model
Tod reads Pickman's Model, story first published in the October, 1927 issue of Weird Tales. It's about a painter, Richard Upton Pickman, whose talent in depicting nightmare portraits exceeds that of comparable realist artists Johann Heinrich Füssli and Gustave Doré. The story focuses on the night one of Pickman's few remaining friends visited his studio, and the horrors witnessed there.

Also, a quick note: If you're listening to this episode, today's probably the first day you learned about the show. Like with all podcasts, we didn't really know what we were doing until a little later. We'd say Episode 19, The Book, is probably a better starting point these days. Go ahead and skip up to that, then come back here if you're a completist.
